A vacancy has arisen for a Shift Operations Technician within the Operations team.
You will be an integral member of a team of Operations Technicians on shifts and you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant including: Combustion System, Steam Boilers, Flue Gas Treatment, Steam Turbines, Generators, and all other associated plant and apparatus.
Key Responsibilities:
Safe and Efficient Operation: Operating the plant during normal running, start-ups, and shutdowns, including addressing emergency situations.
Plant Monitoring: Utilising the SCADA system to monitor plant operating conditions, conduct physical checks and record condition of plant and apparatus, monitor other operational requirements such as boiler water chemistry/evaporative cooling tower water chemistry.
Environmental Compliance: Monitor emissions and ensure compliance with the Environmental Permit, reporting any issues.
Maintenance Support: Support the maintenance team as needed, including first-line maintenance, inspections, and fault finding.
Procedure Development: Assist with developing and maintaining operating procedures.
Safety and Compliance: Work within the company's safety systems and relevant legislation.
Waste Management: Maximise waste throughput and energy production.
Shift Handover: Conduct thorough shift handovers, reviewing health, safety, environmental and plant issues.
