Roles and responsibilities
The Coventry and Solihull Waste Disposal Company Limited (CSWDC) is an independent waste management company and our main business is extracting energy ( heat and electrical power ) from municipal and commercial solid waste.
CSWDC's Shareholders are Coventry City Council (www.coventry.gov.uk) (66%), Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (www.solihull.gov.uk) (33%), Warwickshire County Council (www.warwickshire.gov.uk) (1%) and Leicestershire County Council (www.leicestershire.gov.uk) (1%).
We have been operating in Coventry since 1975 and our address is CSWDC, Bar Road, Coventry, CV3 4AN. We also operate a Household Waste Recycling and Reuse Centre on behalf of Coventry City Council, where residents in the city are able to bring their household waste for recycling and disposal.
Our operations are tightly controlled under UK and EU Regulations and we are licensed to operate by the Environment Agency (www.environment-agency.gov.uk)
We take our environmental responsibilities extremely seriously. To help ensure that we continue to meet the highest standards of environmental performance, our environmental management system is externally audited and certified to the internationally recognised ISO 14001 standard.
We are also proud of our commitment to high standards of health and safety performance in all of our activities. To ensure that we meet that commitment our Health and Safety management system is externally audited and certified to the OHSAS18001 standard.
